Living in a low budget neighborhood in Adrian, Michigan with alien parents from Mexico life was okay. At the age of 16, Martin had a devastating pass from his family. Martin quoted that “ Mothers are people important to the family. They are the ones who keep the family together.” Martin fell through a tough time with the passing of his mother and turned to drugs and alcohol. After the drugs and alcohol, he decided to travel down south where he made it to Mexico City and was left with no money. At that point, he learned that he could draw and sell his paintings.
Martin Moreno’s paintings have several hidden messages in his artwork such as purple mountains that signify a bruised earth. This shows how Earth has been mistreated. Other paintings have little drops of blood that remind us how life is painful along with its’ rose which tells us that life is also good. One of the many famous paintings have rocky mountains that gives a message of Mother Nature’s heartbeat.
Joseph was a second grader. Martin was invited to paint a mural at Joseph’s school. Joseph had and still has outstanding drawing skills. Martin asked Joseph to sketch the mural because of his drawing. In Martin’s eyes Joseph was a young boy with much potential. Joseph never spoke; he always thanked people. Martin helped Joseph find himself.
There will be a new upcoming event featuring artist Martin Moreno. He will be painting a mural along with community members. The theme of the mural is going to be Regeneration and a new beginning. It is going to be located on a wall at Fishes and Loaves at 410 Maumee in Adrian, Michigan. You are welcome to join the community, your help counts!
